Making new padde friends ~ New Eyes Scan Fairhaven Bay ~ The Stern Squirt

Playak News Flash - July 7, 2015
The world's latest paddling headlines.
Tony Paradise Making new padde friends
Tony Paradise - The regulars that I paddle with most went to central Newfoundland to paddle down the Gander River. They were Brian, Clyde, Dean, Hazen, Neville and Terry. Hazen mailed me a picture taken as they were ready to shove off.
Trash Paddler New Eyes Scan Fairhaven Bay
Trash Paddler - My granddaughter joined me this morning for another early morning paddle. I got to show her the Sudbury River's Fairhaven Bay where two white-tailed deer were seen on the eastern shore, and Martha's Point (opening photo) where the melodic song of several wood thrush was heard.
SUPracer A Stand Up Paddle Race Story Chase Kosterlitz'S Race The Lake of The Sky Edit
SUPracer - Now here's a different race recap video for you. Watch Chase Kosterlitz tell the story of his weekend up at Race The Lake of the Sky, his last race before wife Sarah gives birth to their first child (and one he performed pretty solidly in).
Jackson Kayak Fishing With the North Georgia Reservoir Dogs
Jackson Kayak - Here in Northwest Georgia kayak fishing is booming beyond my imagination. We now have two local tournament trails and Saturday June 6 was the first stop of the newest trail. Rocky Mountain Public fishing area was the site and seventeen anglers showed up to compete and fellowship.
Jackson Kayak The Stern Squirt
Jackson Kayak - The stern squirt is one of the most classic things you can do in a kayak! Not only are its roots in the early days of freestyle, but being able to fly your stern under the water is a key component of slalom racing as well. Having a skill that is so well rounded is a must in every boaters quiver. The first thing we need is an appropriate boat. Some boats simply can not stern squirt based on what they were designed to do. For example a karma and a Zen are not the correct tool for this job due to the higher volume stern with a deck that is designed to shed water for creeking. A Fun, Fun Runner, or Rockstar are all great choices for this...
30 Lakes in 30 Days | Redfish Lake | Idaho
SUP Magazine - Get paddling on the Gem State's Redfish Lake. This five-mile-long glacial gash sits in the heart of Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains at 6,550 feet, 60 miles north of Sun Valley off Highway 75. While your eyes will sway skyward toward the towering Sawtooths, you'll want to stare downward into the lake's clear, sparkling waters and shoreward toward its Malibu-style sandy beaches. Head out for day paddles right from your campsite, exploring hidden bays and inlets while stopping to cannonball off granite bedrock.
Kokatat Blog Maine creeking
Kokatat Blog - We got our shuttle set and walked into the put-in from the locked gate high in the hills of Katahdin Ironworks. This area is remote, beautiful and follows the Appalachian Trail. We found the creek, Gulf Hagas to be at a low level which makes the run technical, but not so pushy. We were planning on two runs for the day if all goes well.
SUP Examiner An Inside Look at Race Day: Race the Lake of the Sky
SUP Examiner - In a newly released video short, End on a High Note: A Stand Up Paddle Race Story, Chase Kosterlitz gives viewers a unique, behind the scenes perspective on the thoughts, feelings and emotions experienced by a top athlete as they prepare for and compete in a marque race on the stand up paddling event calendar.
Palm Blogs Pollock fishing in Galway
Palm Blogs - I've been away from the water for a while. Only a few weeks but it has honestly felt like an eternity. Yesterday an opportunity presented itself which I grabbed with both hands.
Kayak Angler Magazine EKFT Summer Slam Part 1–Results
Kayak Angler Magazine - Local angler Carl Torresson topped a tournament-record fleet of 170 kayaks last Saturday to win the Extreme Kayak Fishing Summer Slam Part 1 out of Pompano Beach.
Kayak Angler Magazine Smallie Love
Kayak Angler Magazine - Man I love smallmouth, says Ben Duchesney, web editor of Kayak Angler and host of the new web series Hook, Line & Paddle. Tie the tails of a largemouth and a smallmouth together and a smallmouth will wipe the floor with that largemouth. Hands down my favorite freshwater fish.
Palm Blogs Little Sh*T Wave
Palm Blogs - Today I would like to introduce my local playspot in Bad Aibling. As its name implies it is a very small little wave. It is slow, shallow and twenty metres behind it there are some sharp rocks where you can easily get hurt if your roll is not fast enough.
PeakUK Sebastian Schubert season update
PeakUK - In the last couple of weeks the first big international races of the 2015 season took place. First was the European Championships in Markkleeberg. This race was special for me because it was in Germany so that the support of the fans was more than during races in foreign countries.
All Outdoors WW Rafting 2015 Summer River Rafting Season Update for California
All Outdoors WW Rafting - The 2015 whitewater rafting season is underway in California. Yes, you read that correctly: you just might be shocked to learn that California rivers have enough water for rafting trips into October.
