American Rivers Congress' Plan to Privatize Rivers: Will Paddlers be Paying to Degrade Their Rivers?
American Rivers - In December, we were disappointed to read some ugly comments from Illinois Senator Mark Kirk about his "evil plan" (his words) to turn the Mississippi River into "one huge ag drag strip" (again, his words) by allowing the private sector to "widen and lengthen all the locks and dams." Senator Kirk's appears to be talking about an effort to use a new infrastructure financing plan called the Public Private Partnership Pilot Program to implement the lock expansion components ...

Solent Sea Kayaking Fix Go Pro camera to kayak with Kayalu Suction Mount and Tough Bar
Solent Sea Kayaking - So having invested in a Go Pro camera, I then turned my attention to the issue of mounting it onto sea kayaks. I'd already picked up a RAM ball-mount for the Go Pro however realised that as part of a Kayalu Gear Navbeam system that I reviewed a while back actually contained all the ingredients I needed for a versatile mounting system similar to the specific Kayalu Suction Mount and Tough Bar package.

Martina Wegman Rio Test Event
Martina Wegman - I mainly headed to Rio as I was on my way to New Zealand and was meeting up with Mike half way, But it also was a great opportunity to paddle on the brand new Olympic whitewater course! It's a wicked venue! It was very challenging after having a break from slalom for close to two months. The water is fast flowing and continues, it's hard to keep on top of the water and the boat moving all the time, but heaps of fun.
