News Watch Review: Camaro Dry-Tec and XA-10 Thermo Layer Playak (Saturday 8th) ***** - The new Camaro Dry-Tec suit immediately caught my eye when I first saw it in 2009. I like black wear, especially when it looks sexy. Since the Dry-Tec is stretchy, it's made tighter to the body than other dry suits, so that impressed me, and together with the soft shiny surface, this creates a very sexy look and feel. Werner: Werner Paddles Catalog Photo Facebook Contest Paddle Press (Saturday 8th) ***** - Werner Paddles has announced a unique way to choose their catalog photos. They are engaging their friends on Facebook. "Werner Paddles has a ton of great friends on Facebook. A lot of our friends tag their pictures with "Werner Paddles" when they post them. This is gone a little viral and we think it is cool so we came up with a contest for choosing our catalog photos," says Jim Miller Werner Paddles Marketing Manager. Werner Paddle's Adriene Levknecht has been pushing her limits not just as a female boater but performing at super high levels on the steep creek scene. Big Day at Big Bay Adrian Tregoning (Wednesday 12th) ** - It was a Saturday just like most other Saturdays in the day of the life of my father, except that on this specific Saturday I had convinced him to don his wetsuit and take photos of me surf kayaking from the water. The prediction was for big waves and no wind - the perfect setup. Everything was set to be quite excellent. I wondered how big these waves would actually be. Demshitz kills Reno Fest & Collegiate Games Team Pyranha (Monday 10th) ** - Leaving West Virginia last Sunday, we packed up the van and sprinted out to Reno, NV where we finally arrived Wednesday morning tired and eager to paddle again. We spent the next couple of days catching up on sleep and trying to brush up on our moves in the shallow and tricky Reno hole. Friday Demshitz represented in the Open Freestyle Competition. 2nd Descent of Red Granite Creek - NZ Wavesport Blogs (Friday 7th) ** - A few days previous we had decided to take a hike up Red Granite Creek ... just for a scout as it was bone dry. It was a sweet day mission and cool to check out such an amazing place in New Zealand. Little did we know that just 2 days later it would crap down with rain and bring this beauty up to a runnable level. Steep Creekin' Valsesia Early May 2010 Gene17 (Tuesday 11th) ** - The week started with a surprise after the six of us signed up for a steep creeking course which immediately changed to a big volume survival course. Adrian Tregoning (Sunday 9th) ** - It was decided we'd drive back to the Sungai Lambai to have a look at the Tangsi Empat Falls.Tangsi means jail and Empat means four. But as in many Indonesian words they are said swopped around in English – so Four Jail Falls. XCreek, by Michelle Basso Fluid Blog (Monday 10th) ** - Thursday afternoon in Bergen Norway, sun was shining, the birds are singing and it was beginning to feel like spring. Of course I was stuck in the office, trying to finish up a few last things before I took off for a long weekend rally up North. 1 First descent, 4 different rivers, lots of hiking, all in an afternoon! Ross Herr (Monday 10th) ** - To get the second day of our Durango session going Isaac and I met with Pat Keller and Stan Prichard for a mission! We joined them at the snow covered base of Purgatory Ski Area with a few ideas of possible rivers we could get on. It was already late, around 3, so no time was wasted and we began the hike down to the 3rd Gorge of Lime Creek.
