Rapid Magazine Blog Does Freestyle need fixing and is this how to do it?
Rapid Magazine Blog - "Fixing the scoring system could help solve the attendance problem.  But the change needs to happen at a fundamental level.  Simply putting a number value on each move just doesn't work for freestyle kayaking." ...
SUP HQ Does length matter?
SUP HQ - With all the conversations, blogs and forum messages over the years, one of the most common questions that still flies across our desk is "what height should I make my paddle?"
Sam Sutton Ekstreme Veko
Sam Sutton - Well that has been the rap of yet another amazing Voss Ekstreme Veko, this place is amazing having multiple sports all compiled into one week of pure insanity from crazy base jumpers to loose long boarders it is all happening in voss ekstreme veko. I would love to say thanks to all of the amazing organizers and every one.
Chicago Area Sea Kayakers Association Voyage of Discovery: Dave Strauch's Calumet Harbor Portage
Chicago Area Sea Kayakers Association - In this age of Google Earth and ubiquitous GPS it sometimes seems if there nothing new to explore and name. That would seem especially true on Chicago's lakefront, traversed by millions of vehicles, pedestrians and boaters each year. Leave it up to Dave Strauch to ...
Adrian Tregoning Silverstroomstrand – Composite Element and Detox Surfing
Adrian Tregoning - Earlier this season, before the rain started, there was a lovely day with zero wind and some swell. I'd been wondering how my large Fluid Detox would surf in the ocean and decided I'd take it out for a test.
Level 6 Spionkop
Level 6 - A couple of weekends ago I made a trip down into the Southern part of Alberta to explore a few runs I had never done before, South Drywood and Spionkop.  This winter's massive snowpack had everything running really high so ...

Ciarán Mc Ardle-Heurteau Altitude 2770m
Ciarán Mc Ardle-Heurteau - Found it hard to find an original title for this update so I thought of this. I'm quite proud of this one, though the car did the whole job, the only physical effort on my part was pushing the accelerator and change gears.... Oh yeah the main reason for this update is to tell you all how the ...
OKS Keener One week down, two great more weeks to go.
OKS Keener - The first week of keeners has been a great experiance I already have a lot more control and variety in my paddling skills. We have had a great group of instructors that have taught me a lot and I am excited to see the new ones in the weeks to come. The start of the week began with ...
worldkayak blogs Peak UK Summer Sausage Sizzle 2011
worldkayak blogs - So this weekend I set off to work having forgotten it was the Peak Uk summer freestyle event at HPP, Nottingham. Luckily I work down the white water course as a Photographer. Due to the event being an evening event I hoped to fit my paddling between or after my work. Typically it clashed with my last session (big thanks to Dave wortley for covering me!) The event was held on the Top Wave (or sluice to some) which was great news a very consistent feature where moves go both ways. I expected some big results especially amongst local paddlers and those who had just returned from Worlds in Plattling.
Simon Willis A Mucky Weekend
Simon Willis - Please forgive my pathetic and rather obvious attempted play on words. On Saturday afternoon we kayaked from Ardnamurchan to Muck, the smallest of the Small Isles. We arrived just before our friends stepped off the CalMac ferry. It had taken almost as long to travel from Mallaig. ...
Mark Sundin The Epic 18X - It's back…!
Mark Sundin - I remember seeing the first incarnation of the Epic 18X, the Endurance nearly 10 years ago at a club weekend & thinking, 'hey that's not a sea kayak!' The long waterline, seemingly rockerless profile, plumb racing bow & modern look evoked a racing design profile, not the rough water ...
Tony Paradise A seat repair
Tony Paradise - Last week when we camped off the highway near Arnolds Cove I cracked the seat completely off where it attached to the kayak on the left side. I use a bicycle cable lock to secure the kayak to the roof rack, not because I don't trust people, but because I'd rather not give ...
Auld Blug Abersoch, the Tudwals and a rant..
Auld Blug - A trip with my friend Ian setting off from Machroes at the far end of Abersoch beach to Porth Ceiriad, a short top of around 7 miles. Ian has purchased a 'Formby Finger' Greenland paddle from me and was keen to try it out on the sea, after an initial demo on the River Dee.
