This is either my 8th or 9th trip down here to Mexico, I start to loose count. I have been coming down since 2006 when I was part on the first full descent of the Rio Alseseca, so naturally this place is special to me. Point Bennett Project Just Yakkin - Well, it's been close to two months since my last post but, of course, right in the middle of this was the Christmas Holidays when I chose to slow down substantially. Whitewater of The Sea Bryant Burkhardt - On a New Year's road trip I ended up in Ft. Bragg along the Mendocino coast visiting my friends Jeff and Cate at Liquid Fusion Kayaking. The Mendocino area has an incredible beauty and diversity to it. The ocean is magnificent, with rock gardens and protected bays and good surf breaks. 4th Annual Punta Sayulita Classic Distressed Mullet - The 4th Annual Punta Sayulita Long Board & Stand-Up Classic ("the Classic") will take place again in beautiful Sayulita, Mexico, on March 8 – 10, 2013 and offer the following competition categories. First Trip of 2013 YakAngler - I had made plans for another "Last Trip of 2012", but high winds and the flu kept me off the water until the 12th of January. I called up Team Becker, and we made plans to meet up at the local park. Greeted with a low tide and a slight breeze, we launched in search of some redfish. It came naturally to him after his time river kayaking as a kid on the mainland. He learned composites construction through outrigger canoe building for Kai Waa in Maui and then talked Mark Angulo into building his first custom waveski. First Tampa Bay Kayak Fishing Trip of 2013 YakAngler - I had made plans for another "Last Trip of 2012", but high winds and the flu kept me off the water until the 12th of January. Naish Javelin 12'6 Gx Distressed Mullet - I bought this Naish Javelin 12'6 GX (Carbon) from my local shop near the end of the summer. It was a demo board, so it is somewhat banged up.
