Kokatat Blog Robe Race 2015 - first all female team
Kokatat Blog - The first all female team raced Robe Canyon of the Stillaguamish in the 2015 Robe Race. The Robe Race is 5 miles which includes a mandatory portage and stacked class V rapids, making it one of the longest creek races in the country. It is raced in teams of two for safety, and the average times rest around 30 minutes.
worldkayak blogs 2015 Snowblind Scurry
worldkayak blogs - This year we kicked off the Wenatchee Valley race series with an awesome event on the lower Wenatchee River. Unfortunately, I had a wedding to attend on race day so Officials Nightbeast and Lubes took the helm on this one.
International Rivers Is the Grand Inga Too Big to Build?
International Rivers - The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has plans to build the world's largest hydropower project, the Grand Inga at the Inga Falls, on the Congo River, some 50km upstream of the mouth of the Congo on the Atlantic coast. The Inga rapids and waterfalls give the Congo River a huge hydropower potential, which has been targeted by developers since the early part of the last century.
SquareRock Record Setting and Squirt Boating
SquareRock - Sunday 17th May saw over one hundred  paddlers head to Lee Valley White Water Centre to try and set the World Record for the most kayaks rolling simultaneously. While the two rolls that were required by everyone were completed in a matter of seconds, the wait to see if the record had been set took slightly longer.
Confluence Wilderness Systems Supports Heroes on the Water and America's Soldiers and Veterans
Confluence - Wilderness Systems is proud to be sponsoring several fishing events and tournaments in 2015 that benefit Heroes on the Water, an organization that works with American soldiers, providing opportunities for them to discover and have access to the joys of paddling and fishing.
Kokatat Blog Race to Alaska - Soggy Beavers Update
Kokatat Blog - It's hard to believe we've only been in Victoria for two weeks. Considering we've been spending every waking second together, learned how to outrigger canoe, created a sailing outrigger canoe, and come up with a monster plan for this Race to Alaska that's coming up, I feel like we've been a team for ages.
Canoe Kayak Dagger Roam
Canoe Kayak - The new Dagger Roam is a rare beast: a sit-on-top kayak made for moderate whitewater. The design blends massive primary stability with surprising edging performance, rendering it capable of Class III waters.
unsponsored Palm Equipment – Universal Mat
unsponsored - The Universal Mat from Palm Equipment landed at Unsponsored HQ a few months back and has been used week in and week out ever since.
ACA ACA Member Paddling 1000+ Miles to Raise Awareness for Ocean Health
ACA - When we heard that a member of the ACA was proposing an outrigger canoe journey of over 1000 miles, we were intrigued. Long distance paddling can be both exhilarating and stressful; with exposure to the elements, long periods of exhausting activity, and extreme psychological strain all working against the paddler, it is certainly no simple feat. However, when Margo Pellegrino told us she was attempting this paddle in order to bring attention to the environmental issues currently affecting our waters...
SUPracer New rules and course for the Payette River Games
SUPracer - The Countdown to Idaho is on. In just under a month, a whole stack of the world's best paddlers will descend on the sleepy little hamlet of Cascade, Idaho, for a long weekend of festivities on and off the water. The Payette River Games has two simple new rules this year: No boards over 11 feet in length, and you've gotta race the same board all weekend.
Canoe Kayak Oru Kayak Bay+
Canoe Kayak - Oru Kayaks redefined folding boats with its origami-inspired design. Rather than a stack of frame components and a separate skin, the Oru is one artfully folded piece of corrugated polypropylene–the stuff postal tote bins are made of. The whole boat packs George Jetson-style to the size of an artist's portfolio.
ACA You've Never Seen Canoeing Like This Before
ACA - The ACA is excited to announce that Fredericksburg and the Rappahannock River will be the site of the 2015 ACA Canoe Poling National Championships. The competition will have slalom and wildwater events in classes from beginner to advanced. Competitors will travel from as far away as Maine, New York, Missouri and Texas to attend the event.
Jordan Searle Expedition Brazil - Santa Catarina Stouts, a Broken Back and The Boys Finishing It Up.
Jordan Searle - After we made the grueling 25+ hour drive south from Espirito Santo to Santa Catarina we made a b-line for the Rio Benedito to blow out the cobwebs. It felt good to be back on the water, but we came for bigger and better things. We got the call from Marcelo Galizio and Jake Greenbaum, who were in interior SC, and had just begun to breakdown a waterfalls section of the Rio Chepeco.
Lee Royle Review – Immersion Research Arch Rival Dry Top
Lee Royle - As well as the Arch Rival drysuit, I also got a dry top for warmer climates. I was expecting similar good performance to the drysuit, and so far I have been just as impressed with it.
Angling Addict Vernal Reds
Angling Addict - So far, I've only crossed the CBBT twice this season. Luckily, I was able to find them both times. On the first day, the weatherman's magic 8-ball was wrong again.
