SUPracer SUP Polo World Games Set To Be An Entertaining Sideshow To The ISA Worlds
SUPracer - If you're here in Sayulita for the ISA Worlds then you're invited to compete in one of the most novel/entertaining stand up paddle events of the year: The SUP Polo World Games, Mexico Edition. For the uninitiated, SUP Polo is one of the whackiest things you can possibly do with a stand up paddleboard. It's also one of the funnest. A cross between water polo and lacrosse, SUP polo games are short, sharp and mildly chaotic affairs.

Fluid Kayakology2 Kayaker Spotting
Fluid - In Kayakology1 we covered some terms associated with paddling sports and touched on the fact that whitewater kayakers are quite different to people involved with other disciplines. To expand on the whitewater topic this lesson in Kayakology explores whitewater kayakers in their natural habitat.
Canoe Kayak Dog Paddling
Canoe Kayak - A paddler's best pal? A pooch. Here's why: Complain in the rain? No way. Low center of gravity and four wheel drive? You betcha! Play pal ashore and cuddle buddy in the tent? Oh, yeah. However, paddling with a pooch requires some preparation as these three, veteran pooch paddlers explain.
Jackson Kayak River Bassin' Trail – Charlotte, NC
Jackson Kayak - The Charlotte leg of the 2015 River Bassin' Trail had been on my mind for months. This stop kicked off the 2015 tournament season for me and I prepared as much as I could leading up to April 18th. Whether searching google maps or floating various rivers within the legal boundaries, many hours were spent making sure I was prepared – not necessarily to win, but prepared to make educated decisions.
Silbs I am On My Last Leg
Silbs - My life is full of life-changing events that contribute to the rich texture of our existence. Such an event happened to me , somewhat late in life, when a fragment of a lumbar disc broke off, cut a nerve and left my left leg weakened.
American Rivers Obsolete Searsville Dam will continue to damage San Francisquito Creek
American Rivers - In a disappointing decision, Stanford announced that it has preliminarily chosen to cut a hole at the bottom of Searsville dam as its preferred option for allowing steelhead to travel past the dam, but it will study the option further before making a final decision. The dam has blocked threatened steelhead trout from reaching miles of good habitat and has dried up the creek since about 1892.
Exploring Elements EVENT: First Annual Muddy Creek Race
Exploring Elements - Tucked away in the farm country of Pennsylvania, Muddy Creek flows through a beautiful little gorge with fun whitewater that will delight and surprise the unsuspecting paddler who ventures to this area. I found out on Facebook, about a month before, that there was going to be a race on Muddy Creek. I didn't give it much thought then, but as the date creeped closer and I saw a few more posts about it, I thought that it would be fun to go up for the event.
SUP Examiner SUP Deck and Paddle Wax from OnIt Pro
SUP Examiner - If you have taken part in a stand up paddling event in North America, chances are you have been photographed by OnIt Pro. OnIt Pro's tent is a staple at SUP events around the United States, particularly in the company's home turf (or should I say waters) of Southern California and their event photographs are routinely shot, edited and disseminated to the stand up paddling community via social media free of charge as an altruistic gesture to support the greater good.
Bryant Burkhardt The Art of Sea Kayaking
Bryant Burkhardt - People seemed to enjoy my Art of Whitewater, so I thought I'd give the same treatment to ocean paddling. This is the start of a series of posts covering what it takes to paddle on the open ocean. I'll discuss the techniques and ideas I feel are important to understand in order to safely paddle in exposed areas.
unsponsored Carabiner Mod
unsponsored - A small piece of bungee and a small piece of cordage can be used as shown to keep the gate of a carabiner open.
worldkayak blogs Emily out West
worldkayak blogs - This past weekend I had the pleasure of jumping on a new river: Bear Creek Canyon. My husband Nick, son Tucker and 2 dogs have been driving around state to state, river to river having fun at whatever park and play feature we could find.
