Adrian Tregoning Adrian Tregoning: Sunset Beach Session In The Element!
Sunset Beach Session in the Element! This session was captured last year October and unfortunately finding willing photographers is like recruiting for a war! It's such a shame that more surf kayaking sessions aren't captured on camera. I've managed to score waves way better than what is shown here but this year I vow to get far more action captured on still photos and of course, video.

Dave Hoffman Dave Hoffman: My First Paddle Strokes Of 2009 - Mosier Falls
Mosier Falls is located just east of Hood River. The drop, totaling 80 feet, has been run previously by Nate Herbeck, who ran the river left side, Josh Bechtel, who ran the right side and Erik Boomer, who was the first to run both sides. With severe flooding occurring in the the area, we figured that a park and huck would be our best paddling option for the day.

KayakQuixotica KayakQuixotica: if it's not on you. .
A news story out of Oregon makes a point that is always worth talking about. It seems a man was out paddling the other day, was caught in a current and swam. He lost his kayak, but luckily he made it shore. Now the problem came later. It seems his friends were expecting a phone call. The phone however was with still with his kayak.

ERA Blog ERA Blog: Paddling the New Year Ecuador Style!
If being with us here in Ecuador would be more fun than reading about it…., then on New Years Eve you needed to borrow from the Venezuelan New Years Eve tradition: take a suitcase and carry it around the house for the duration of New Years Eve– bringing you the opportunity to travel in the new year.

Hans Heupink Hans Heupink: Rolling And Comparing The Tahe Greenland Kayak
Pierre-Yves (a French kayak-enthusiast) kindly allowed to publish this video of his friend Pierre-Dominique demonstrating some Greenland-style rolling with the Tahe Greenland kayak. They compared the Tahe Greenland to the Valley Anas Acuta: with a similar traditional hard-chined, low-volume-design, the Tahe is much faster and easier to roll. (And from own experience I can tell the Anas Acuta is already a great kayak to roll!).

SeaKayakPhoto.com SeaKayakPhoto.com: Tides And Otters In The Sound Of Jura.
We arrived at Carsaig Bay just as the sun was coming up. It was high water and all looked calm. The bay is a sheltered inlet off the Sound of Jura but across its mouth the waters surge back and forwards through the Dorus Mor and the Corryvreckan tide races at speeds of 4 to 9 knots.

Playak Playak: User review: Wenonah Canoe Itasca 19
Highly recomend this vessle for anybody seriously looking for an amazing touring canoe. Exceptions...If you are only going to visit small lakes or fast rivers, if you don't plan to use it enough to master the proper strokes, and/or if your locations are just over the bow. This canoe goes places.

SUP Surf Mag SUP Surf Mag: Indications Of Stand Up Paddle Industry Growth
he year of 2008 has finally come to a close. While for some it has come as a relief to have a fresh start, for the stand up paddle industry the future continues to look bright after unprecedented growth over the last year. While it has been a rollercoaster ride for many businesses, both surf and non-surf industry related, Stand Up Paddle Surfing Magazine statistics show that the stand up paddle industry has flourished over the last year showing an immense flood of interest in the sport.

surfski.info surfski.info: The Dwasope Diaries – A View From The Back
There are moments in life when things just seem to make complete sense, when we feel at peace with ourselves and the world we find ourselves in - for me, and I'm sure many others, The Southern Shamaal PE to EL Surfski Challenge provides a unique opportunity to experience these feelings and is part of the reason why paddlers return year after year to put themselves through 4 days of paddling hell and paddling nirvana.

surfski.info surfski.info: The "Fullfoot Advantage" – rudder pedal innovation
I call the pedals the "Fullfoot advantage"... Simply because that is what they do! ... They give you an advantage by being able to use your full foot instead of only your heels.....an advantage in a noticeable difference in more power applied to the forward motion..... The more foot contact the better.....

SUP Surf Mag SUP Surf Mag: What Makes A Stand Up Paddle Surfboard Stable?
One of the first questions that stand up paddlers frequently ask when they are on the hunt for a new board is, "How stable is this one?" This tend to be particularly important to those who are having their first experiences with the sport. While it's true that after paying your dues with plenty of water time most boards will feel reasonably stable in almost any conditions, many new paddlers are looking for something that will be stable and fun from day one.

CA WW Paddling CA WW Paddling: My son Kenya paddling in the Gorge run (III-III+)
For my son Kenya who hurdled Eskimo roll, the next challenge was class III run. For us, it was the Gorge run of SF American river (III~III+, ~9 miles).

Shane's Logic Shane's Logic: Sneaking Away To Surf In Nicaragua
The day after Christmas I jumped on a plane and headed south for the new years celebration and to surf until I couldn't lift my arms and stand up on a board anymore. The standing up on a board part is pretty difficult for me anyway but you get the idea. I have been on 4 surfing trips in the past one to Sayulita Mexico, 2 trips to Nosara Costa Rica, and now to Los Cardones Surf Camp in Nicaragua. Each place is really different and have been awesome for learning to surf, but this spot in Nicaragua was fantastic.
