It stood out with its unique style and incredible aerial silk skills displayed by Candice. ICF: The beginnings of Canoe Slalom in Indonesia The camp was held on the River Palayangan in Rahong. Pierrick and his coach selected a stretch of about 230m of grade 2 rapids. Everyone roped in and the out-fitting of 18 gates (double and single poles) was done in just 4 hours. Thanks to the ICF donation of boats, the equipment was of a good quality and every paddler had his or her own boat for every training session. During the actual training, five concepts were worked on, these were safety, break-in and break-out of eddies either with and without gates, ferrying, back paddling and balancing in a Slalom boat.
