Wavesport Blogs December to Remember
Wavesport Blogs - The huge storms of December, 2010 gave me one big problem: how to dry gear? It just kept raining down low and snowing up high. I saw the biggest flows since I moved to CA in 2007. I got a streak of 7 straight days on the water. It was good. This video shows a ride at the Gay Wave on the Conflue...
Todd Wells First Descent: Upper Rio Savegre
Todd Wells - The Rio Savegre lies in the bottom of one of Costa Rica's most beautiful valleys and also has some incredibly fun class IV-V whitewater. Ferdinand Steinvorth, Chris Baer, and I had just got off the upper section of the Rio Division and were set on, after a good night's sleep, hiking 11 km.
Kayak Yak William Shatner Kayak
Kayak Yak - Yes, you may have noticed that I'm a bit of a geek. So just for fun I googled "william shatner kayak." He's an outdoorsy type, I might get an interesting hit or two. But I found something crazy right off the top. Here's a clip from 1978, a Battle of the Network Stars segment showing a kayak relay race featuring such stars as Richard Hatch, David Letterman, and The Shat himself.
the nile progression Nile Kayaking Festival 2010 - Round Up
the nile progression - Well like a snowboarding movie once said - 'That's it that's all'. The Nile Kayaking Festival 2010 is over. Gone, finished for another year. But not before I do a quick round up for you folks with some results and photos.
DeRiemer Adventure Kayaking Ecuador-Time To Get Wet
DeRiemer Adventure Kayaking - After our day on Antisana with Murray, Rickie and I headed to the Quijos valley for the start of our annual boating safari. I grabbed my gear out of storage and we drove south to Tena for some paddling with local residents Dan Dixon, Matt Terry and Jaime Dalgo.
Desperate Measures Morocco 2010: David Bainbridge, Tom Turner & Ross Montandon
Desperate Measures - Looking through our library of images, we've just found some photos that were sent to us by David Bainbridge, Tom Turner & Ross Montandon after their surf trip to Morocco last year.
Canoe & Kayak UK New Year, New Slogan for Fluid Kayaks
Canoe & Kayak UK - As we move in to a new year, it is always nice to reflect on the past year. 2010 has been an exciting year for Fluid Kayaks: they launched a new website, signed up a new distributor for North America as well as a new North American team manager, partnered with esteemed photographer Paul Villecourt, exhibited at OR and Kanumesse, and appointed a new engineer and marketeer at our factory. They also released a couple of great boats, like the Bamba fishing kayak, composite L Element surf kayak and the M and L Detox riverrunner/creeker.
Am. Whitewater New Chattooga Comment Opportunity and Video
Am. Whitewater - The US Forest Service has announced yet another 45 day comment period regarding paddling on the Upper Chattooga River, a form of outdoor recreation which they have banned on that section of river for 34 years. Their announcement states that all comments since 2005 will be considered, and are only seeking any new comments, information, or ideas.
