Playak - I always put a lot of time into creating new Playak services, and this year I urgently need some help from you, the Playak users.
River Angels Featured paddler of the month ( January): Emily Meredith
River Angels - I have only known Emily for a few months and have had the honor of paddling with her only a few times . . . but, Emily has stood out from the many, many paddlers I know. Her enthusiasm, ambition, laughter, light-heartedness . . . and, I could list off many more attributes . . . makes her a joy to be around. Whenever Emily is paddling, there is a smile on her face and a giggle just waiting to burst.
Jackson Kayak Rockstar Rock Island surfing photos
Jackson Kayak - Some photos of Owen, Emily, and I surfing Rock Island today. Good fun! Fortunately (for us, but not for him) Clay's all gimpified from running the gnar. So he volunteered to shoot photos for us :)
Boyd Ruppelt Epic New Years - 2011
Boyd Ruppelt - We stayed ahead of the storm Friday night while driving in some incredible wind. We had New Years twice!!! :-o once in each time zone... Feeling off to a good start, we decided to head on to the Tellico and camp, sleeping in the rain. Now we expected a storm and knew there would be wind and lots of rain, but we had no idea what kind of night we were in for.
CKS Blog Haley Mills Reviews The Wavesport Project X
CKS Blog - The Project X is awesome! The design looks like a surf kayak and you really get that feeling when your flying down the face of a wave. Don't let the desgin fool you this boat still kicks some booty in a hole. I have been paddling the boat since September, and already my mcnasties and phonix monkeys are coming around easier because of the shorter stern and the slicey bow. The extra overall volume of the 48 feels easier to paddle rather than the 45 project because the volume it close to the body. Especially considering my height of 5 foot and weight of 105lbs I can still maneuver the boat really well.
PaddleBlogs Kayak Huasteca: Stand Up Surfing Ciudad Valles!
PaddleBlogs - Flows in the Huasteca are still a nice medium level. When we don't feel like driving to the waterfalls there is a great park and surf 5 minutes from the Hotel.
Mark Sundin Paddling with Kiri
Mark Sundin - had a memorable two day paddle with my eldest daughter Kiri over the New Year, up the majestic Shoalhaven Gorge. She has been asking & asking me to take her on a paddle 'into the wilderness' since watching (& watching & watching) the 'Douggie down the Pet' segment on Justine Curgenven's 'This is Canoeing' DVD.
Adventures on the Blue Winter
Adventures on the Blue - So this year I'm pledging to spend more time on the water and less on the more nerdy pursuits of mine, but we'll have to see how that pans out. Today I met John, Louise and Paula on the beach and got ready. I took the kayak down from the car and it was just full of ice! Hefted it onto my shoulder and unloaded the unwanted ice shards from the cockpit and rear compartment. looks like the rear hold is not water tight, so a trip to the kayak store is imminent.
