Northwest Video Scrapbook Haymaker / Metlako Falls, OR
Northwest Video Scrapbook - Busy and non stop, summer time can fly by before you know it. This past weekend was the Hood River Premiere of Haymaker from HH Films, poolside at the Columbia Gorge Kayak School location. Featured in High Definition with zip-line shots and creative editing of beautiful first descents in locations from Hawaii to Puerto Vallarta. Also featuring some local paddlers and a featured section on the Hood River area with a full rafting chapter of some recent descents in the Pacific Northwest.
Markus Leppaenen Help save the Reichenbach-Wave in Munich (Germany)
Markus Leppaenen - During the kayak freestyle world cup tour this summer the wave was already working and showed its potential. Paddlers like James Bebbington aka Pringle stated that it was one of the best waves they`ve ever surfed. The last weekend we had the pleasure again to surf it as the water was high enough.
Jackson Kayak Sage Donnely wins 5 JR. Olympic medals -plus looping video
Jackson Kayak - I have had an incredible summer full of travels and competitions. I had a great time meeting people and new friends all over the nation. This summer, I started out with the Reno River Festival, then traveled to Colorado for a month of freestyle and slalom competitions where I managed to get on the podium on almost everything I entered. I then went onto Maryland where I competed in Age Group Nationals in slalom and managed a 1st in Cub Cadets and a second in Cadets overall.
Jakub Nemec Lake creek pictures
Jakub Nemec - When I posted video called My Home I called Pine creek rapid my home run. It is true but its easy, accessable, convenience and fun run. In this blogpost I would love to introduce you some of my best home runs ever called Lake creek. It flows in valley next to the road no. 82 called Independence Pass. Most of the summer its really high and running bottom section would be pretty hard core. You can run upper section though and it includes some fun class IV-V kayaking.
Dagger Blogs The Salmon River Gorge
Dagger Blogs - Breathtaking. If you're lucky enough to have ever been here you know. The Salmon River Gorge is without a doubt one of the most awing canyons I've ever had the pleasure of venturing through. With an unsuspectingly deep and waterfall ridden gorge in the middle of Mt. Hood's thick evergreen forest, this river will blow you away.
Whitewater-Koa Something about Icebergs, Oxygen and kayaking???
Whitewater-Koa - Imagine walking through the desert for 1 and a half months without water and then finding a cooled water machine, or climbing mount Everest and loosing all your oxygen then finding a fresh tank at the very top, or how about being stranded on an iceberg floating in the ocean and coming across a tropical island paradise with sun, surf and a poolside bar.... How good would it feel....
CKS Squad How low is to low? Embudo in July....
CKS Squad - Well, when you live at the takeout of the Embudo and it starts raining hard. The excitement starts to build. It has been bone dry down this way since June and everything has dried up good. I figured that If I could guide a raft down the Rio Grande Racecourse run at 250cfs, full of American sized tourists, then I sure as Keck could bounce a kayak down the Embudo at 50cfs. There were some big flash floods yesterday and the Embudo was raging, and I mean raging.
Nessmuking Taking Great Canoe and Sunset Pictures
Nessmuking - A canoe, glass-calm water, and a sunset goes together like bananas, ice cream, and whipped cream. But unlike the quickly fading delight of savoring a banana split, capturing a sunset in a picture allows for sharing and enjoyment for years.
Jackson Kayak NYC Inner City Kids Camp
Jackson Kayak - For the past several year Jessie Stone and Soft Power health have been running an Inner City kids Camp while teaming up with the Upward Bound program from Boys and Girls Harbor. This has been my third year hepling with this project.
SUP Surf Jamie Mitchell Claims 9th Molokai2Oahu World Championship, Kanesa Duncan Claims 8th
SUP Surf - Australian Jamie Mitchell, 33, claimed an unprecedented ninth Molokai-2-Oahu World Paddleboard title in Hawaii today, completing the 32-mile distance just four minutes outside of his own record in a time of 4 hours, 52 minutes and 45 seconds. His record of 4:48:23, set in 2007, stands for another year. Mitchell attributed today's convincing win to experience in Hawaiian waters that allowed him to overcome an uncooperative ocean of disorganized swells.
The Lake is the Boss The Traditional Gathering
The Lake is the Boss - We've successfully made it through three straight weeks of kayak learning with a weeks vacation thrown in the middle. The GLSKS was sandwiched between two traditional events, a Turner and Cheri weekend in Bayfield and the Traditional Gathering on Lake Mille Lacs this past weekend. I'll have more posts on the vacation paddling in the Yoopee with the Fall Trip cronies but I wanted to get some stuff up on the Gathering while its still fresh.
