Sweet 2010 Promo Video
Sweet (Friday 9th) ** - By the beginning of this summer I sat down for couple of days to put together my promo video. It includes footage from last two years spent kayaking in Central Europe, Norway, Nepal, New Zeland and all around the US and Canada.
Team Pyranha Mission: Italy
Team Pyranha (Monday 12th) ** - Well, Italy was obviouslythe place to be in May. Four separate blog posts from for separate Team-Pyranha paddlers in the last few months. I've heard plenty of people rave about the place in the past, and have been desperate to get out there for a while now.
Pyranha Team Van Hucking our way to Valldal
Pyranha Team Van (Sunday 11th) ** - So we had our fun in Voss, paddled the Lower Myrkdal several times (at various levels) without breaking ourselves, and headed over to Valldal. On the way we decided – at the recommendation of our friends Julian and Doug – to camp beside some very scenic wat
Jakub Nemec My Home
Jakub Nemec (Tuesday 13th) ** - This July I am based on the Arkansas river in Colorado. Its great out here. I work almost every day as a safety kayaker for Timberline Tours. In my time off I go kayak somewhere else or work on my videos, designs and gear improvement for next years..
Jordan Searle Dinkey Creek - Waterfalls Section
Jordan Searle (Monday 12th) ** - Well the name of this run sum it up really... waterfalls! Plenty of clean waterfalls over 6 miles, in one of the coolest places I have paddled. Once you've got the shuttle sorted, thanks Airika and Katie, you have a 45 minutes hike (try do it faster) down to the put in. Due to a fast pace and fading light, thats what putting on at 4.45pm does, we didnt get many photos of day one's bigger drops but I tell you its all good! Here are some of the photos of our trip.
Dagger Blogs Feeling Royal, going Dinkey and living a Fantasy
Dagger Blogs (Wednesday 14th) ** - The past two weeks have been epic out here in the high sierra country of California. With the huge snowpack and cold weather of the spring, it was seeming like the multi-day season would never come, but alas, it finally did and man has it been sweet.
Jackson Kayak South Silver (videos)
Jackson Kayak (Wednesday 14th) ** - Last Saturday I was able to catch a run on South Silver before it ran out of water for the season. For those of you not familiar with this run, just think of Disneyland for kayakers. It is some of the steepest cleanest whitewater you can find anywhere. We only had about 50-60 cfs, which is low but still super fun. Once again the Villain has continued to impress me. Towards the end of the video watch how well the bow stays on the surface and in control all the way through skyscraper. Enjoy the video.
Teva Blog A whole month of events
Teva Blog (Wednesday 14th) * - After my exams and the World Cup soccer, I finally get the chance to write a review about this super hectic month. This month absolutely saw its extreme highlights, as well as its big disappointments. After all it has been an adventure and I am not in the position to complain, as I've been out, on the road and focused on what I love to do; kayaking.
playak.tv Video: Element high speed surfing
playak.tv (Saturday 10th) * - I could finally test my Fluid Element on the Hawaii sur Rhone at decent waterlevels. The action was shot on the left channel, during my third session in the boat. This is a level where the wave is hardly surfable in a spudboat. I must say the Element lived up to my expectations... and even surpassed them with its impressive combination of speed and forgiveness! Some friends tried it and were impressed too. The performance of a surf kayak, with the feel of a freestyle boat, was how it was described by a first-time tester. I'm still getting used to the new style of paddling that the Element makes possible. This is only the beginning, as I know there's a whole new world of possibilities to explore in this boat.
Jackson Kayak Sierra City on the North Yuba
Jackson Kayak (Sunday 11th) * - I have had this footage on the computer for a while, but I have been slack on putting it together. The video actually covers a number of different sections of the North Yuba. It is everything below loves falls to Downieville. In order from top to bottom we have Wild Plum, Sierra City, Ladies Canyon, and Boss Moss.
Fat Paddler Extreme Sea Kayaking with the Tsunami Rangers
Fat Paddler (Saturday 10th) * - There are so many different types of paddling out there, each with their own appeal and thrill factor. But if you want to find out what defines "extreme", you need look no further than a group from the US who call themselves the "Tsunami Rangers". Their activity borders on lunacy, but boy is it exciting to watch.
Wavesport Blogs Featured Photos
Wavesport Blogs (Saturday 10th) * - Check out the featured photos from the last few months. Start posting your best photos now to be considered in the next round of features!
Wavesport Blogs Nordland Sweden
Wavesport Blogs (Sunday 11th) * - After and epic few day and mid summer night in Trollfors we started on the creeking adventures. We headed toward the Norway Sweden border in search of a few rarely paddled rivers and perhaps a first descent or two.
LiquidLore The Callaghan Creek Race
LiquidLore (Tuesday 13th) * - By now it's not hot off the press news, at least if you follow the internet kayak chat board world - the Callaghan Creek Race will be held at the crack of 2 pm on Saturday, July 24th. A couple of us local BC lads this past winter talked a bit about trying to revive the Whistler Creek Cup of years gone by - I wasn't living here when they went down but rumour has it they were a great time. Not wanting to organize essentially three different races we planned on having low-key race and party only on the Callaghan - initially slated for the second weekend of July.
CKS Blog Immersion Research Kling On Spray Skirt Review
CKS Blog (Monday 12th) * - Kayak design has become a little bit "cockpits gone wild" in the past few years. There seem to be more and more boats with funky designs (like really flared knee wells for extra volume), XXL oversized and elongated cockpit rims, etc. It's often tough for spray skirt manufacturers to keep up with the latest boat designs, create skirts that will stay on the boat in all conditions, and keep you dry.
