Wavesport Blogs How to Helix/ Felix
Wavesport Blogs - A 360 degree spin with at least 180 degrees of which the boat must be inverted. The Helix is my favorite trick to do on a wave. The best part about this trick is you can practice it on flatwater.
Kayak Thailand Search and find!
Kayak Thailand - We were starting to loose faith in Thailand, a little thought was just beginning to gnaw at me, as if the trip could of been a waist of time. We had spent the last 4 days driving hundreds of Kilometres, with the intent of finding new white water, or at least hucking our selves of some drops we knew had been run before. All of which had either been to rocky or to dry.
Roaring Fork Kayakers Callaghan Creek Festival 2010
Roaring Fork Kayakers - A few weeks ago was the Calaghan creek festival near Whistler,BC. Calaghan creek is a beautiful classic BC creek with sick rapids and beautiful scenery. The festival was to raise awareness about the fact that like most creeks in BC, the Calaghan has a hydropower license on it, and could be dammed soon. Being one of the most beautiful and fun creeks in BC, it would be a terrible thing to lose this river.
Team Pyranha Kid Chris Morelli on the Green river Narrows
Team Pyranha - For every Kid, grown man, women or child the 1st trip down the very popular Green River Narrows is like Christmas morning. This is a great day in any kayakers life. Not only to run the Green, but to run all of the Green, the big 3 as they call them down there in NC. I remember my 1st day down the Green for sure. It's just a damn good old time on the river. I mean shit they even made a movie about it.
WK Throwdown Slave Paddle Fest
WK Throwdown - We hosted our 1st of 4 Throwdowns this season in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories along side the 3rd annual Slave Paddle Fest. This event was not only a huge success in terms of its organization, but also with respect to the number of people and different user groups it brought out to the mighty Slave River.
united in nature Summer 2010
united in nature - Summer is almost over and it has been a great one here in charlotte. the whitewater center has kept me busy with kids camps and lessons. i have been playboating quite a bit more this year learning some new tricks. During the summer in the southeast everything dries up. so the green river is what we turn to. She has been running sporadically this summer but at least during these dry summer months we have a class iv-v creek to run.
CKS Squad Chocolate River
CKS Squad - The last real water of the year in salida came after a flash flood up stream. I could not resist even though there was tons of pine cones and pieces of wood. Totally worth it! The river fashed up to about 1500 cfs in about 30min or less. Now the water is dropping and its time to head for the Gauley, Yough and all the other rivers I can get on.
Mike Dawson Touch are for schmuchs
Mike Dawson - Another day in Bratislava! An interesting week to say the least. Qualifications.. what a nightmare. Off line running all the way picking up 2 touches and sitting on the bubble for the semi-final. I thought I was out-in what would be a terrible performance. Fortunately, I managed to land bang on the top of the bubble.. Actually right at the point of the bubble in 40th place. Last qualifier and first starter. Not to worry, I will take that.
