Cumec Magazine Red Bull Chronicles - Ben Brown takes on Nevis Bluff
Cumec Magazine - Earlier this year Red Bull paddler Ben Brown teamed up with the Red Bull Chronicles film crew to document a descent of the Nevis Bluff and Citreon Rapids on the Kawarau River down here in Central Otago. There are some great angles in this clip that show the Bluff in a different perspective to what you've probably seen before.
Wavesport Blogs About the Colorado Circuit
Wavesport Blogs - The competition circuit that takes place in Colorado is quite an amazing experience. It all begins with the small town competition in Buena Vista, Colorado, the CKS Paddlefest. The Buena Vista Whitewater Park is one of the best whitewater parks I have ever been to. It keeps getting better and better.
The Seven Settlements Solo Kayak Expedition Day 9 - blissed out! Part I
The Seven Settlements Solo Kayak Expedition - I won't pretend to have found the following quotes through anything other than the internet. Whilst I might think I am well-read, it all depends on the titles. I have read absolutely none of the following although I have dabbled a little in Thoreau.
Rapid Magazine Blog Rapid Media TV: Episode 4
Rapid Magazine Blog - This episode of Rapid Media TV was filmed on location at the 2010 edition of Palmer Fest held on the Canadian Victoria Day long-weekend on May 21st-23rd in the town of Palmer Rapids, Ontario. Check it out and don't for get to leave your comments about this year's festival.
Kokatat Blog BasserDrew's Amazon Expedition
Kokatat Blog - very time I go to the Amazon I get more than a fishing trip in return – I get a fresh dose of reality; I get perspective and insight on where I truly fit into this world. It's always this aspect of the trip that makes it hard to come back and ever have a "bad day" again, or fail to appreciate the efforts of those who have gone before us to makes our society very special. Not that the native's way of life is not enjoyable to them, but it helps me appreciate what we happened to be born into, despite the demands and stresses that come with our fast paced technology driven society.
Each & Everyone There and Back Again…
Each & Everyone - Experiencing Maine, in the Deer Isle Archipelago, navigating, meandering through the myriad of granite islands rising from the crystal seas, I have seen. I have seen a surreal landscape come alive as if I walked into a Roger Dean painting. These beautiful islands, of smoothed egg shaped granite boulders, topped with the spiked growths of spruce reaching upwards out of the rock. The waters so clear and blue, with undulating fields of seaweed swaying underneath as you so effortlessly glide above the serene world below.
Will Herman Flamborough Head
Will Herman - What a superb section of coast this is: bold headlands, secluded coves, dramatic caves, arches and chalk boulders that turn the sea emerald green all combine to make this one of the best trips on the east coast.
SeaKayakPhoto.com From the Dorus Mor to Crinan
SeaKayakPhoto.com - From the Corryvreckan we had to paddle at a high ferry angle to get round the north end of Reisa an t-Sruith. Once past here we were propelled through the Dorus Mor (the gap behind the paddlers) and thence towards Crinan still at 11km/hr!
USA Canoe/Kayak Team USA Wins Two B Finals in Poland
USA Canoe/Kayak - Two-time Olympian Carrie Johnson (San Diego, Calif.) and Krisztina Zur (Newport Beach, Calif.) win Final B of the K-2 500m race. In a great race, the women took the race to their competitors and the others simply could not hang on to the pace of Johnson and Zur, who surged ahead in the final few meters of the race to win by 2.3 seconds over Spain.
