The world's latest paddling headlines.
Chris Wing Playboater Troubleshooter
Chris Wing - What were we thinking this time around when we approached a new topic with a similar approach to the Whitewater Troubleshooter? Firstly, I wanted to touch base on some key points that I felt once again were being left out of general kayak instruction, this time with the topic of play boating.
Naish Naish Rounds Out The Podium At Currumbin'S Creek to Creek
Naish - Congratulations to Naish SUP Team Riders Karla Gilbert, Jake Jensen and Molly Walker for their strong finishes at the SUPSA Creek to Creek in Queensland last week.
Jackson Kayak Bigjim'S Summer Vacation
Jackson Kayak - My parents live in New Orleans and I only get to see them once or twice a year. When I heard they were gonna be visiting me for 10 days I put in a request to get all last week off work to spend time with them and my wife and kids. We had a BLAST and had a ton of quality family experiences. We sampled local food, beers and wine.
Jenny Kalmbach Training Tip 18
Jenny Kalmbach - Been awhile since I've posted a training tip gotta blame that on all the training and preparing for the upcoming races! I'm kicking off my summer races with this weekend's Maui-Molokai, followed by the Maui Paddleboard Championships next weekend and the 32-mile Molokai to Oahu on July 28th.
Zen Waterman Zen for Surfers and Water-People
Zen Waterman - As a Doctor in Anthropology I have academically studied Zen Buddhism extensively. Zen Buddhism is hard to explain namely because it is very stereo typed and clichéd in western culture. Zen monks staring at walls or navel staring are common misconceptions of what Zen folks do in general .
International Rivers Comparing Ethiopia'S Grand Renaissance to Hoover
International Rivers - Once upon a time, massive dams were built on the US West's mighty Colorado River, bringing scarce Depression-era jobs, water for farms, and electricity for industry.
Jim Krawiecki New Thermal Base Layers
Jim Krawiecki - A couple of months ago I was sent a couple thermal base layer tops from Brynje of Norway. I must admit that when I first saw the 'string vest' material I was a little sceptical. However, Norwegian special forces use them so Brynje must be doing something right. These garments are close fitting, extremely stretchy and feel immediately warm to wear.
Newfoundland Kayakoholic Club Kayak Camping Trip
Newfoundland Kayakoholic - Four years ago I did my first kayak camping trip at Pinchgut. It was a club event, led by Peter Armitage, and was called an Introduction to Kayak Camping.
Kayaking the Lakes of South Dakota Big Sioux Recreation Area (North) to Madison St. Bridge
Kayaking the Lakes of South Dakota - A couple of Big Sioux River cruises took place over this past weekend that I missed because of family scheduling concerns. So, today I seized the opportunity to cruise with Dave Finck down the river from the north end of the Big Sioux Recreation area in Brandon to just past the Madison Street bridge, a distance of about 4.5 miles.
YakAngler Border City Classic Results
YakAngler - The weather held up for us, and the fish were biting on both sides of the border. The participation from the Americans doubled from last year and though they made it close, Bob Forster's last minute entry wasn't enough to catch the 59 7/8" total of the Canadian anglers, so the "Border City Classic Challenge Cup" stayed with on the Canadian side.
A whole bunch of Ing's Bellevue to chance cove...finishing off a piece of coastline.
A whole bunch of Ing's - Now that things around here are finally getting back to normal; I can focus on my "continuing expedition" of exploring the Avalon's coastline.
Fat Paddler Riding The Penrith White Water in a Wenonah Recon Canoe
Fat Paddler - In the lead-up to the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the western suburbs were treated to the building of an international class white water stadium at Penrith which would showcase the world's best white water athletes and give Sydney a top-class facility for our own future stars including Olympic silver-medalist Jessica Fox.
