HB Gem Sam Roil - After a very cold stint in Wanaka/Christchurch I made it back to the Hawkes Bay on the back of a storm (and in front of an earthquake) so all of the rivers were up nice and high. I'd already recruited my little sis Harry to paddle with as she was on uni holidays. We scavenged a couple of boats and made our way up our road (the Napier/Taihape) to check out a section on the Tutaekuri river (unfortunate name that, means dog shit...)

Lachine ROCKS! Jackson Kayak - This summer was my first time surfing Lachine. I know crazy right, I have only been up on the Ottawa almost every summer since the early nineties. But yes, there is always a first and I am so happy I got to go surf Lachine, not only once but twice! Both times we got to take Nicks little brother Matty and he had an amazing time too!

Taking the Nomads for a Stroll, Tajikistan Palm Blogs - So the Yagnob was our plan. Expected time, 5 days. Drive as far as you can up a 4×4 road, get to a village, and walk the rest. Unfortunately that 'walk the rest' part meant 25km up over a 3300m pass. Boats, gear, camping equipment, food, the lot…Time to barter for a donkey.

South Carolina Parks & Rec Demo... Atlantic Paddle Surfing - esterday I was fortunate to give a Paddle Board lesson and demos to the South Carolina Parks & Recreation convention at the Hilton Head Westin.., Representatives from Town and County Parks facilities, Rec Centers and private Recreation facilities attended this session and about 20 or so attended the Stand Up Paddle seminars.

Two resting places on Gigha SeaKayakPhoto.com - It was early evening when we came across the wreck of the Kartli. It was humbling being so close to the final resting place of the wreck of this great ship and it served as a reminder of the power of the sea.
