Playak News Flash - May 1, 2014
The world's latest paddling headlines.
worldkayak blogs Spring Splash NOC Hometown Throwdown #1
worldkayak blogs - Spring Slash at the NOC was host to the first WK Hometown Throwdown at NOC for the year. We had a great group of competitors that traveled from near and far to show us their best tricks in the hole. We even had an appearance by the one and only Clay Wright (in his lighting bolt Rockstar).
Jackson Kayak Back Yard Run
Jackson Kayak - It's mostly class II, III with a class IV falls near the end of the regular run. At one time there was a steep, stout fish ladder below the falls that some people would attempt to navigate in the longboats of the early 90′s. I witnessed one of these attempts, it consisted of an ugly piton and a folded up C-1. Plain ugly to watch.
Wavesport Blogs Spring has sprung
Wavesport Blogs - Here's what's been going on in the world of the Campbell's.   We went to the New England Triple Crown a couple of weeks ago. The Triple Crown has usually been a successful event for me but not this year.  I'm not sure if it was lack of paddling or if I just wasn't into competing that day or if it was the swim in cold ass water.
Jackson Kayak Waveosaurus
Jackson Kayak - After being given some local beta and finding out about high water levels on the Connecticut River, we discovered a wave was in near the Dinosaur Footprints in Massachusetts. EJ and I quickly loaded into the mini and Jessie Stone followed us on our search.
Naish Naish's Kalmbach Paddles To The Podium At the 2014 Carolina Cup
Naish - With over 600 paddlers racing in a single day, the Elite Graveyard Race featured over 175 paddlers who participated in the grueling 13-mile race. Battling severe tidal currents that were rolling against them for 10 of 13 miles, light cross winds and horribly timed tides, this group had the odds stacked against them.
Jackson Kayak Torqeedo Ultralight 403 Electric Motor System Install on The Jackson Kayak Big Rig
Jackson Kayak - The Jackson Big Rig with its 37″ width is very wide for a typical kayak hull. Paddling such a craft in high winds could pose a challenge. People say the electric motor will possibly be the future of kayak fishing.
SUPboarder Black Project launches premium SUP paddles
SUPboarder - As with our fins we want riders to be able to fine tune their equipment and this is why we offer 3 different shaft bend curves and 2 handles, we are all different, ride different boards with different styles and in different conditions and hence need something that fits our very specific circumstances.
Confluence Confluence Outdoor: Dream it. Think it. Do it.
Confluence - What a week it has been for us here at Confluence Outdoor! We are so excited about the acquisition news we announced, and are very humbled by your outpouring of support and shared confidence as we move forward. We would not be where we are today without our incredible Confluence team, our dedicated partners, and our loyal consumers. A sincere thank you to everyone who had a hand in helping us to accomplish all that we have.
SUP Magazine An Sup Mission to Auckland
SUP Magazine - On Tuesday, April 15, 2014, I set off on my longest and most challenging SUP mission yet. I've always enjoyed working towards challenges and training for endurance events, competing in an Ironman triathlon and many endurance running races in the past, so, it was only natural after becoming hooked on standup paddling that I wanted to create big SUP challenges for myself. To me, there is nothing more satisfying than setting a challenge and completing it.

SUP Magazine - Performance Paddling is proud to introduce the 2014 Junior Pro line-up, for the world's premier All Youth Sup event, the Performance Paddling Jr. Pro and Youth SUP Fiesta.
Standup Journal Ke Nalu's New Ho'oloa Paddle
Standup Journal - The differences between the Ho'oloas and our original designs are subtle but the way they feel in the water is entirely different! It has a slightly softened catch due to the narrower width but more drive due to the increased length and larger sweet spot.
Palm Blogs SUP Racing goes wild in Jersey
Palm Blogs - So Saturday was my first race of the season; head high waves and gusting winds of 30 knots were a great way to start.
unsponsored Arc'teryx Customer Service – Review
unsponsored - At the start of 2014 I managed to put a cut in my Arc'teryx Fission SL jacket. The Fission SL is a super light weight Goretex pro jacket that is insulated. It's a great jacket that is both light and warm and it has served me well through the British winters for the last couple of years.
SUPracer Eric And Ti2 Warm Up For Nicaragua By Going One-Two In France
SUPracer - In a sign that French national team selectors got their men's racing picks spot on, Eric Terrien and Titouan Puyo have gone one-two at the Jade Paddle Race in France, just days before they jet off to Nicaragua to represent their nation.
red paddle co Not just made of tough stuff but for tough stuff – By Sam Ross
red paddle co - I've been racing my Red Paddle Co Elites all around the UK for the last year and even had a trip to Holland last year for the 11 cities. So when I managed to get a day off to coincide with the UKSUP Clubs second race of the season in Jersey there was only one way I was going to be able to get there and back in time for work on sunday and that was Fly.
