Leif and Natalie Live from the Grand Prix, stage 2 - Boatercross
Leif and Natalie - After the big trick contest, we packed up and headed over east to the Rouge river for the big water boatercross. The rains closed in and the weather cooled off quite a bit. The Rouge is a pretty sweet river. We were there at relatively high flows, but I imagine there are good rapids there at almost any level. The river is not incredibly large (for our race, the flows were close to 400 cumecs, which is less than 15,000 cfs), but it's steep enough that the rapids still have a lot of power. We had a warmup day, and spent that day searching for waves.

Bellyak - Prone Position Watercraft patent number US8696395B2, issued on April 15th 2014. Our patent grants us the sole right to produce boats with lateral and longitudinal rocker" with a "recessed area to accommodate the riders body.
Jackson Kayak Whitewater Grand Prix Stage 2
Jackson Kayak - Well just finished but the stage 2 event: Big Water Boater-X. It was an awesome event and a great day with perfect weather, awesome levels and big rapids. The course was set up on the Rouge river with a long set of standing waves and a bit of craziness at the bottom just to keep it interesting.
Palm Blogs Simple – a way of life
Palm Blogs - In this beautifully shot edit from the White Nile in Uganda, Palm ambassador Katya Kulkova, along with her filmmaker husband James Bebbington, take the destination paddling video format to another place. The Nile is surely one of the world's most beautiful kayaking destinations, but not one immune to change. Nikki Rekman Werner Paddles - Available for Travel
Nikki Rekman - Having the ability to stow your paddle in your luggage is not only convenient but cost effective as many airlines charge for over-sized bags. Currently Werner Paddles offers break-down paddles (3 pce or more) in the following categories: Touring, Whitewater and Stand Up Paddle.  These paddles are also great choices for those that have storage constraints when living in smaller homes ie. apartments or condominiums or quite possibly the back of a van...
Chris Baer Is Ignorance Bliss? Spending Time in Undercuts of The Wairoa River, Nz
Chris Baer - Twenty-six days a year the Wairoa River flows through a densely forested gorge. The other 339 days it's rerouted in order to create a small amount of hydro-power, destroying a delicate ecosystem.
Martina Wegman WWGP Stage 1,2,3
Martina Wegman - The first three stages of the 2014 Whitewater Grand Prix are done and dusted! The Grand Prix kicked off with a Big Trick Freestyle stage on Gladiator on the Ottawa River. Some impressive tricks where shown by the 35 competitors. Nick managed to take out the top spot of the men's with an impressive Flashback into Airscrew! In the ladies it was Mariann Saether taking the lead after the first round, throwing some solid big tricks.
Flo Fischer Corsica 2014
Flo Fischer - This year I spent my fourth time in my life on the island of Corsica for kayaking. As usual, we started our trip through Corsica at the Tavignano River at "Camp Ernella". This is a beautiful camp, where you meet a lot other paddlers and it's easy to drive to some of the best rivers on the island. From here we paddled the Fium Orbo, a classic class 4 run with a handful harder rapids. Very close to the camp there is also one of the best class 5 whitewater on the island.
Dagger Blogs Local Heroes
Dagger Blogs - I grew up in Siskiyou County which has a population density of 7 people per square mile (New York City has 27,532). As a beginner in my Dagger CFS it wouldn't seem possible to have local heroes, but I did. Just wrapping up their careers in whitewater Dustin and Brandon Knapp left a legacy of first descents on everything in the area on top of remarkable exploits around the world.
Werner Standup for The Cure
Werner - Thanks to team paddler, Kerstin Oullet, for these great pictures from the www.standup-for-the-cure.org in Newport Beach this May. Her team, The SUP Chicks, have raised the most money in their area for all 3 years of the event, this year raising over $22,000. Congrats to the ladies, but remember any amount can help, if you desire check out their site and send some hope today.
Massie Creek Paddlers Park and Play
Massie Creek Paddlers - We stopped by the Buck Creek Whitewater feature (Snyder Park, Springfield Ohio) to see what was going on. We discovered a whitewater kayak class from Wittenberg University.
NRS Duct Tape Diaries The Far Right Line: Reflections on Hiking Out
NRS Duct Tape Diaries - Some days the deck's just stacked against you. NRS ambassador Adam Elliot considers one of paddling's most essential skills—knowing when to shoulder your boat and start hiking out. After Getting Busy, I pause to catch my breath, shake my arms and pound the deck of my kayak.
Jackson Kayak Best Way to Teach Kids, The Dynamic Duo
Jackson Kayak - So I have this son (10 years old) and daughter (12 years old). They are both into paddling, mostly flat water till now, but both are starting to get that 'bug' to try whitewater. Cool! Though I do have some years experience in teaching the whitewater progression, I have often dreaded teaching my own kids.
Palm Blogs Kick-starting the season at the XXL Paddelfestival
Palm Blogs - After last year's strong debut, expectations were high for the second edition of Germany's biggest canoe and kayak demo event. But with four full days of free paddling on Markkleeberg's modern whitewater course, twice as many exhibitors as 2013 and a total of 5,000 visitors attracted throughout the venue, the XXL Paddelfestival continued to ride on a wave of popularity.
