Adventures on the NF Nooksack ~ The Diesel 80 - Revisited

Playak News Flash - April 8, 2014
The world's latest paddling headlines.
Rafting Life Adventures on the NF Nooksack
Rafting Life - Spending a three days at a SRT course in the Fraser valley it was amazing how much paddling you can get in. After a evening run on the Chilliwack Canyon run, the next evening was off to the states for my first run in the State of Washington. The water level on the NF Nooksack was 650ish CFS(cubic feet per sec) . Found the level to be fun, lots of eddies to catch behind rocks.
Wavesport Blogs The Diesel 80 - Revisited
Wavesport Blogs - If I were told that I could only have one kayak to take with me for a full year to paddle every river in Costa Rica, the choice would be too easy.
Trash Paddler Low Clearances on the Sudbury
Trash Paddler - The Nashawtuc and Elm Street bridges weren't offering much in the way of headroom to Sudbury River travelers this morning. Fortunately, there was just enough room to squeeze under and allow my passage upriver to Fairhaven Bay.
Palm Blogs Uganda and my winter travels
Palm Blogs - This winter I had to leave the UK, so we made plans to head to warmer counties. In January we went for a little off the water trip to Cyprus for a few weeks, which proved to be a very nice and cheap destination to go for the off season holiday, we did some filming for the donkey sanctuary there and lots of driving around, the Island is small, but very beautiful, and food is very good here, it also seems to be a very good destination for sea kayaking.
Jackson Kayak North Fork Payette Winter Boating in the ZEN 55
Jackson Kayak - This year we got decent snow pack in Idaho, so as the snow starts to melt the rivers will start to rise and we should have good flows this summer for the the North Fork Championships and the Payette River Games in June.
Jackson Kayak Poppies on the South Fork
Jackson Kayak - Every spring the poppy bloom on the South Fork is eagerly anticipated. The poppies were out in full force this weekend on the South Fork American River in Coloma Calif. Temperatures are hitting the 70's and we are starting to shed the dry suits and head covers of winter. There is sun shining on all the play spots and the days are longer.
Palm Blogs The Elusive Pike
Palm Blogs - After months of organising the Llangorse species hunt comp, the weekend had finally arrived and it was time for me to take the annual trip up to this stunning part of the world in the Brecon Beacons.
Palm Blogs Pool Season Finished
Palm Blogs - Firstly I would like to say hello to everyone. It's my first update on my new team blog and first written by myself in English so please be patient . I'll try to put my English on higher level with every next text.
Jackson Kayak So Ya Wanna Go Paddlin' with Your Dog, Huh?
Jackson Kayak - Me too. I love being on the water, and I love spending time with my dog. Suffice it to say that I'm in heaven when I am able to do both at the same time. While some dogs are naturally drawn to water, not every dog takes to it; some don't even like being near it.
Tony Paradise Waiting for spring weather
Tony Paradise - During the past week we had a good old nor'easter that dumped 40 cms (16 inches) of snow.  It is technically spring but it was anything like spring.  Clyde, Dean and I decided on a paddle anyway at a place familiar to us and close by. We paddled down the coast to Portugal Cove through this channel which is one of my favourite spots with varying degrees of happy memories.
Jackson Kayak 2014 Kayak Bass Fishing Open on Santee Cooper
Jackson Kayak - The 2014 Kayak Bass Fishing Open has kayak anglers from all over the states coming to compete in a two day tournament in South Carolina on Santee Cooper. The 177,000 acres of Santee Cooper Lake consist of swamps, stumps, cypress trees and much more.
SUP Fitness Downwind Stand Up Paddling Requires A Big Heart
SUP Fitness - Aloha and welcome to the world of downwind stand up paddling. I know you are hooked on this insanely fun, adrenaline elevator element of SUP; if you are reading this article. I've written about this a little before some time ago, but thought I'd bring it back again in greater detail as we approach this downwind season.
CackleTV Kayaking South Georgia – October 2014
CackleTV - In January, I had the opportunity to sail to the Antarctic peninsula & kayak amongst icebergs, penguins, seals, whales and historic bases. The wild beauty, the camaraderie of a small team & the mixture of camping on the snow some nights and eating home cooked meals on the yacht was a winning combination.

It was very exciting as there was neck to neck competition between Connor vs Kai in the sprints but that's not the only close competition... Jake Jenson (Fanatic) and Zane Schweitzer (Starboard) were right on their heels, with Jake just getting the better of Zane on the home straight to take 3rd and Zane, 4th. In 5th, it was the Viking Casper Steinfath (Naish).
