Due to the winds most of the time was spent fishing in many of my back country areas. Younguns Freestyle 2014 – Tryweryn SquareRock - Last weekend was the first event of the Younguns Freestyle 2014 series in North Wales and also the first ever younguns sickline event. The Saturday was the sickline event held on the Tryweryn, the morning was an open format, a chance to have a play around or just run the river. I took the opportunity to run the full river in the Jackson Kayak Karma small to get used to paddling a real river again and a creek boat. After a lunch break it was time for the race, the format was two qualification runs, a semi-final and final run running from the raft get out point down to just below chapel falls. 42nd Amsterdam Waterland Marathon kicks off ICF classic marathon series. ICF - The first race of the ICF Classic Series Canoe Marathon is about to kick off on Saturday 19th April. Annabel Anderson Wins Yet Another Trophy, Gives SUP Yet Another Mainstream Promo SUPracer - As if Annabel Anderson's trophy cabinet wasn't full enough already, the Kiwi has gone and won yet another trophy. Or two. This time the awards weren't from a race though, yet probably did more for her (and the sport's) image than any SUP podium ever could. Claire O in New Zealand PeakUK - Last March I made my first trip to New Zealand when Jason Searle invited me over to train with him. He took me on a 3 week 'non stop' adventure sport tour of the North and South Island and I absolutely fell in love with the place (see the March 2013 blog link for my blog on our adventures). This year i'm back to train with Jason again and the fun has just continued. Manca Notar claimed the top spot on the podium in the women's division and placed 3rd in the Men's coming thru the finish line just 15 seconds behind the top male finisher.
