Paddling Life Trio Knocks off Stikine in One Day
Paddling Life - Hats off to those guys," says Hilleke, part of the first group to ever do the run in a single day with Dan DelaVergne, John Grace and Toby MacDermott in 2005. "When we did it it was the most intense day of big-water kayaking I've ever had. And knowing Booker, I'm sure he didn't portage much.
Team Pyranha The Triple Crown
Team Pyranha - Both myself and Maxi Kniewasser were lucky enough to complete the Triple Crown (Stikine, Alsek, Susitna) this fall. Early in the season Maxi mentioned how keen he was to paddle the Alsek and having heard the stories from Daz Clarkson it sounded like an awesome trip. For myself I had been thinking about the Stikine for a while and was really keen to train hard and give it a go and Maxi said he was up for round number 2. So there it is, the original plan thrown out there, all we had to do was train super hard and earn enough cash to make it happen.
Paddling Life Czechs, Brazilians dominate Pre-Worlds in Costa Rica
Paddling Life - It's the rainy season in Costa Rica. Only a subtle difference from all the other seasons, and it might be difficult to tell the difference unless you're a local. Or unless you're competing in the International Rafting Federation's pre-world's held this past weekend. Fortunately for the competitors the water levels remained the same for the past for days. It's something that is virtually unheard of for this time of year, but a welcome respite from what everyone expected.
Level 6 James Reeves throwing it down!
Level 6 - A couple of videos from L6 global team member and current World Squirtboat Champion James Reeves! Keep it up James!
Gene17 My week River Leader Training in Soča with Gene17
Gene17 - I booked on one of Gene17 4 star white water courses in October 2010. From day one Simon and the other staff were on top of their game and began identifying weakness in our paddling.
A Wet State (CA) Video: Cali-Burn Fest '10
A Wet State (CA) - This race was held to benefit Matt Thomas. On the morning of July 9th, 2009, Matt Thomas overshot a jump while mountain biking in Southern Oregon and dislocated his C6 and C7 vertebrae. When he woke up from the accident he was paralyzed from the chest down. Matt had emergency surgery in Medford Oregon, where he is currently recovering.
Jim Krawiecki Storm Gathering Eve
Jim Krawiecki - The long journey from Manchester started at 7 o'clock this morning. The first stop was at Preston Brook to collect a couple of P&H Delphins. There was also a special treat in store. Fresh out of the mould was a prototype of the Delpin's composite 'big brother', 'Aries'. I'll be playing with this beauty for most of this coming weekend.
Seth Ashworth Bo Selecta: GB Freestyle Kayak Team selections
Seth Ashworth - The weekend just gone saw the Nottingham play host to Great Britain Freestyle kayak team selections. Across the course of two days competitions were held on two different features on the course, the 'Twin Waves' and the 'Tardis'. Saturday also saw the one and only squirt boat team selection.
CackleTV Hasta Menorca
CackleTV - I just returned from a great week of kayaking in Menorca with Sarah Outen. How nice to be in short sleeves in late October! Menorca is a great location for kayaking with limestone cliffs peppered with caves on the south coast, and a colourful smorgasbord of red, grey, white and brown rocks on the north coast.
