Potomac Paddlesports The Maipo Valley
Potomac Paddlesports - This year I am attending New River Academy, a high school that travels around the world to paddle while at the same time being able to do school where ever we go. This Semester we are in Chile, the past 10 days I have spent in the beautiful Maipo valley an hour from the capital city of Santiago. For the first seven days we slept under small pavilion, some of us on the ground, others in tents, and a few of us(me) would hang hammocks up between the wooden columns that hold a tin roof above our heads. The camp ground "Cascades De Las Animas" is owned by our Spanish teachers family. It is an amazing place, surrounded by massive mountains and place right on the Maipo River.
PaddleBlogs Kayak Huasteca: Santa Maria Rafting
PaddleBlogs - The high season has arrived here in Mexico. The rafters are here every weekend. water levels are excellent, it's gonn be a great year.
Just Yakkin Off to Greenland . . . by way of Brigus!!
Just Yakkin - The stars were in alignment for Cheryl and I - which means that we had our two kids farmed out for the day and were free to do a paddle somewhere. The season is winding down (for most people) so I wanted to get Cheryl out for one more paddle before the "really" cold weather set in.
SUP HQ Battle of the Bay 2010
SUP HQ - The first Battle of the Bay open water paddling competition was held on the 13th of November. The competition was based on the Battle of the Paddle competition held in America where there were 1000+ participants participating this year.
The Roaming Dials Modern Packrafting Adventures
The Roaming Dials - This trip shows Tazzie as a packrafting destination. More of a classic, Alaska-style landscape adventure than a New Zealand trail hike and sport boat trip spot.
SeaKayakPhoto.com A dream of the otter and the mountain
SeaKayakPhoto.com - Although we were some way offshore, an otter surfaced between Tony and myself, a still wriggling fish clamped firmly in its jaws. Unfortunately it was gone before I got my camera out.
Just Yakkin A warm, sunny November day in Cape Broyle
Just Yakkin - The weekend of Nov 6-7 was certainly a weather anomoly for us here in Newfoundland. It was calling for warm temps all weekend but with higher winds on Saturday. Some fellow paddlers opted to go for a practice run on Saturday as the winds made for some fun conditions. I, on the other hand, had some work to attend to around the house - most notable was replacing some clapboard that I'd been neglecting since August!!!
CackleTV "This is the Sea 3″ – 25% off
CackleTV - As winter comes upon us and many of us are spending less time on the water, and more time wrapped up inside, I'm offering a fantastic 25% off "This is the Sea 3″ DVDs for a limited time. If you haven't got a copy, or you want to get organised for Christmas and treat a friend… now is your chance.
