The world's latest paddling headlines.
Wavesport Blogs 2010 Halloween Paddle
Wavesport Blogs - Every year it is tradition for Hood River locals to get together for a Halloween paddle down the Green Truss section of the White Salmon River, WA. This year there were over 15 paddlers, dressed in everything from bam bam and pebbles to angels, clowns, democrats, nurses and frankenstein.
Seth Ashworth Little videos
Seth Ashworth - The last few weeks have been pretty crazy, lots of driving and a fair bit of paddling to boot. I've been working on a short video project since about august, here it is. Enjoy and safe boating.
Wavesport Blogs Fuelled Friends...
Wavesport Blogs - This fall has been a very interesting one for water levels on the Ottawa River. In the last 6 weeks we have seen everything from -3 to the high water flow of 15. It has allowed us motivated paddlers time on every feature the Ottawa has to offer and it has also offered us the opportunity to utilize some of our fuelled friends such as the JET SKI.
Immersion Research Putting the Klingon and Lucky Charm Skirts to the Test!
Immersion Research - Team members Even Garcia and Aniol Serrasolses have been putting these two skirts to the test for us down in Mexico this fall- One of the test drops being San Pedro Falls. The result? You should stop in at your local paddle shop and purchase one of these bad boys…as soon as you can!
The Water Cycle Clear Creek Headwaters, Wilderness Falls Section: IV (V,P)
The Water Cycle - Since I began kayaking, I've dreamed of this section of river. Clear Creek, a tributary to the Klamath River near Happy Camp, California, is one of the most pristine watersheds in the country. The entire drainage is protected by the Siskiyou Wilderness Area and is completely roadless with the exception of a dirt road to access the lower canyon. The lower section from Slippery View river access to the Klamath confluence is a great class III scenic float and one of the best beginner runs around. Above that, upper Clear Creek is a classic section of class IV/V whitewater that has become a favorite run of mine.
Ross Herr Green Race Day pics from within
Ross Herr - So everyone knows the score, the dust has settled, hangovers are starting to improve, and it's time to move on from the greatest show in sports. This years 2010 green race was another awesome event. The entire week of paddling is my favorite of the year for sure. Everyone is pumped, learning new lines, anxious about race day, and excited to party. This year the title is leaving with Mike Dawson to New Zealand but he has already promised to return next year to defend himself. I couldn't believe how many people were in the gorge. From "Go Left," down you could barely hear the water beneath your boat over the roar of the spectators. The only negative words I heard all day was there just wasn't enough carnage.
Dagger Blogs Why Every Paddler Needs to Practice the Back Stroke
Dagger Blogs - When was the last time you practiced paddling backwards? If you're like most paddlers you probably don't remember or have never worked on your back stroke. That's because it feels challenging and the benefits of back paddling aren't always given the respect that they deserve.
Rapid Magazine Blog VIDEO: Rapid Media TV at the Green Race
Rapid Magazine Blog - Rapid Media TV on location with Scott MacGregor at this year's Green River Narrows Race in North Carolina.
