Mt. Hood H2O Pdxfilmfest 2010/new blog
Mt. Hood H2O (Wednesday 17th) *** - Here is my video from the 2010 film fest. It features a lot of rafting footage. Jeff Compton is in most of these shots and has started his own blog at www.yougonnaraftthat.blogspot.com Be sure to check it out. First post is on the first documented raft descent of Opal Gorge. They also smashed the myth once and for all that you cannot portage Undertaker on the left in the rain as they did it with two rafts... Not that it should be taken lightly, but it is very doable. enjoy the video.
BRT Insights Ode to the Club Boater - whitewater river kayaking carnage video by tgerencer1
BRT Insights (Saturday 13th) *** - I haven't been a big fan of whitewater river boating carnage videos, but this one has a great combination of video, music, lyrics and humor.

The Roaming Dials (Sunday 14th) *** - "We've heard a lot of kayakers describe the differences of being in packraft for the first time, but never get the opposite perspective."

Evan Garcia Salto de San Pedro
Evan Garcia (Sunday 14th) ** - The San Pedro Falls is about an hour away from Tlapacoyan. It wouldn't be that far in any other country, but when the road is covered with pot holes and speed bumps, you can't just put her in 5th and cruise. After some ungodly amount of jesus's yelled out as we passed cars on corners and caught air off topes we arrived at a small inconspicuous bridge. Upon arrival you would think nothing, but when you peer over, you see it!
Mt. Hood H2O Elk Creek, AKA Hoffstadt's younger brother, AKA Why isn't this in the guidebook?
Mt. Hood H2O (Saturday 13th) ** - Pete sent out the call to do some exploring in the Kalama drainage. I had a feeling as to what we might be up to as my dad had sent me these two enticing pics the year before on a trip to the Kalama.
Level 6 Fall Update 2010

Gutters of the Earth Postpile, lifestyle
Gutters of the Earth (Sunday 14th) ** - As the 2010 snow melt played out and I eyed the Roger's Crossing gauge on the Kings, a new gauge caught my eye, a realtime reading on the San Joaquin at the Devil's Postpile. I daydreamed about the rapids, I re-counted the portages. I remembered the stillness of clear pools impounded between boulder piles in deep gorges. I thought about the remoteness of the river, crossed by footbridges but never paralleled by a trail, the canyon walls rising straight out of the water much of the way. My consciousness was caught up with the river.
Tomass Marnics SICKLINE MOVIE SHOW - Нижний Новгород/Екатеринбург/Рига
Tomass Marnics (Sunday 14th) ** - Dear friends, fans of water sports and just travel lovers!
Hans Heupink Dutch innovation improves safety of low head dams for paddlers (and for swimmers)
Hans Heupink (Wednesday 17th) * - Dutch innovation improves safety of low head dams for paddlers (and for swimmers) . Every paddler with a little bit of experience knows that low head dams (weirs) are dangerous, potentially lethal. Though you won't find serious white water in the flat Netherlands (the one exception is DWD), the canals in the country are full with hydraulic engineering installations, such as artificial weirs, pumping stations, inlets et cetera, creating potentially dangerous situations.
worldkayak blogs Oregon-bound and Star-Struck!
worldkayak blogs (Sunday 14th) * - Its been a long time since I updated my blog. I've been itching to get on-line and I finally have a few moments between boating trips to write up some of my recent adventures. So I recently returned from a trip to Oregon. I knew it was going to be a great trip when I arrived at the airport and was immediately upgraded. Then sitting in the airport lounge, I saw a familiar face from my favourite TV show- actor that plays Michael Spence from Holby City. Grinning from ear to ear I finally approached him in SFO and told him what a cool actor he is and he was my favourite character. He was very gracious, but he must get crazy fans like me approaching him all the time…
Vaya Con Rios Pucon-Chile
Vaya Con Rios (Wednesday 17th) * - I ended up going to Pucon in the middle of September, wich is pretty early for kayaking but we managed to run some of the classics like: Maichin, Todo Puesco, Nevados, Palguin, alto, medio, bajo,Trancura.
