Clay Lucas Update from the summer/fall seasons
Clay Lucas - Its been a while since I've posted on here, but I am about to start posting on here a lot more often. We have decided to run with the "huck yosef" thing, so now myself and several friends from around the high country will be posting on here about kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, surfing, and anything else we think is worth writing about.
New River Academy The Mighty Maipo
New River Academy - The New River Academy has now been on the banks of the Maipo for five days, so I decided it's about time to blog about it. Staying in Cascada de Las Animas is a great experience, the people are very friendly, the weather is amazing, the food is delicious, and the river is epic. The Lower Maipo offers fun, but frigid, class III, III+ big water that is a fun paddle for everybody here. But the Upper Maipo is a long, continuous, huge class IV, IV+ run that offers excitement, fear, and a sense of accomplishment.
Teva Blog 1st descent of 128.6 ft Big Banana Falls
Teva Blog - Over the past week we have pushed the limits of waterfall running to the max. It can be argued that more big drops have never been run in such a short time frame by so many kayakers. Descents have included 3 of us firing off 90 ft Xico falls, Tomata Gorge (a 70 ft waterfall into an 80 ft waterfall) and the recent decent of 128.6 ft Big Banana Falls (the second tallest drop ever paddled). Amongst many other big waterfalls and committing rivers.
Rafting Life Pinder River Expedition
Rafting Life - Last week, after encouraging the boys to give it a go. We loaded up the Tata with 9 people and headed off to the Pinder. The next morning we headed up from Karan Paryag to Tharali to put in for this fantastic adventure.

Astral Currently - While kayaking in Cali and safety boating in Colorado, Czech and US couple Jakub Nemec and Meg Smith created the aesthetic design for this highly visible Limited Edition Greenjacket that would make Kobe Bryant proud. 22 years old, Jakub is an Astral team paddler who has traveled the world with his paddle in hand.
Atlantic Paddle Surfing Andy Irons, Rest in Peace..
Atlantic Paddle Surfing - ANDY IRONS, a professional surfer who many considered to be the best in the world, has died a mysterious death at the age of 32. Irons was found dead yesterday (November 2nd 2010) in a Dallas hotel room after making his way home from a competition in Puerto Rico. The world of surfing mourns an incredibly sad loss today with the news that Hawaii's Andy Irons has died. His memory will be our treasure..

Dash Point Pirate It's Summer Again, in November
Dash Point Pirate - Wednesday's high of 74 degrees at Sea-Tac airport broke the record for Nov. 3 set 40 years ago in 1970. It also matched the all-time high temperature for November. The last time a November day was as warm was in 1949. So let's hear it for global warming! It was perfect day to play outside, especially because the predicted max ebb current was -7.7 knots at Deception Pass.
SeaKayakPhoto.com A little rockhopping in the Firth of Clyde
SeaKayakPhoto.com - Phil and I convened at Carleton Bay to the south of Lendalfoot on the South Ayrshire coast. The light breeze was onshore so to check the sail, I had to head back into the shore...
