Wavesport Blogs P56X First Impressions, and Sizing Considerations
Wavesport Blogs - Weighing 140, height 5'10" and shoe size 11, I have plenty of room in the boat. In fact I was concerned the new sizing would make it more difficult to throw around than the old P52. I was stunned. It was the opposite thanks to the new volume distribution. This boat is extremely balanced from end to end despite it's shorter stern, and the new bow shape makes pulling tricks like McNasties and Phonix's easier while still giving huge pop because of the volume centered near the cockpit.

Palm Blogs End to end on Loch Ness – Part 1
Palm Blogs - I was recently asked to spend a week introducing a group of people to Open Canoeing in the Scotland. After having spent only a day and a half getting to grips with the basics as a tandem crew, I decided that it was time to venture a little further and attempt a two day journey with an over night camp. What better way to learn about the subject than by simply going and doing it?

Simon Willis Werner Paddles - My Choice
Simon Willis - Paddle choice is hugely personal. I'm not a coach. I have no special knowledge of how to pick a paddle. For that, I'd recommend listening to the How To Pick A Paddle Podcast on this page. Oh, and check out the comments at the end - there are some helpful contributions. (Arguably more helpful than mine!) I've been using various Werner paddles for three years, and I'm fairly clear what works for me and Liz. And it's not what we first assumed.
Kayak Angler Magazine Will Painting My Kayak Spook White Sharks Away?
Kayak Angler Magazine - Carrie Wilson of California Outdoors Q&A tackles an unusally sharky question.
Go Kayak Now Sea Kayak Surfing the Channel of the Black River
Go Kayak Now - John Fleming and I headed out to surf mid-afternoon Friday. Forecast was SW Winds at 40 knots. Waves 7-9 feet building to 9-11 feet and veering NW. I've had good luck this season so far with NW winds, but today was not my day at the beach. We examined the conditions at the beach and pretty quickly found that it was a giant washing machine.
PaddlingLight Susie Island Kayaking Trip Report
PaddlingLight - A great kayak day trip should have interesting landscapes, open-water crossings, nice places for lunch and a chance of surprise. In my book, it should also be remote but easily accessible. On Minnesota's northshore of Lake Superior, the trip from Grand Portage through the Susie Islands to the Pigeon River includes all those features and more making it the best full-day kayaking trip on Minnesota's shoreline.
