Dagger Blogs - It's been almost two months since my California summer ended and I returned home to the Southeast. With little rain here and little rain in sight, I often find myself daydreaming about California and just how awesome it is. That got me thinking, what exactly is it about California that makes it so great?

Kokatat Blog Pixiland Project Revisited
Kokatat Blog - Sunday, the night before the tour, there was a big storm with 50mph winds and buckets of rain. The group of river managers were feeling uncertain, but I explained that our protocol was to drive to the location and make the call depending on the conditions of the day and time of the tour. The the Oregon coast has many micro-climates, and 10 miles can make a world of difference, let along 24 hours!
Kokatat Blog Summer wrap-up from Jez Blanchard, Australia
Kokatat Blog - What an awesome summer it's been! It had everything I can want in a summer: great times, good weather and some fantastic boating. As usual I was fortunate to be able to instruct in the Southeast, teaching kids on the water every day. There is something really rewarding about getting kids hooked that have never been in a boat, and seeing their progression to taking on some big water. A very packed-in summer lead to instructing daily, teaching what I estimate to be over 500 people made me a very tired, but content boater.
Adrian Tregoning Adrian's Guide – How to Make Your Own Hand Paddles
Adrian Tregoning - This is a step-by-step article on how to build your own hand paddles. You'll need minimal equipment and skill, and you should be able to do this at home very easily. Hand paddling is a good alternative to spice up your easy, familiar runs and will create good water awareness too. It's also a good skill to have and some people like to carry hand paddles on certain rivers as backups as they're very light. Whatever your reason, it's simply fun to build them so get cracking.
