Playak Independent Review: Kayalu Kayalite stern light
Playak - The Kayalite Stern Light is a 360 degree white light mounted on top of a 45 cm ABS plastic pole. Kayalite claims to offer a "premium grade, virtually loss-proof and indestructible" solution for the lighting on kayaks, canoes and other small watercrafts like dinghies and RIB/RHIB inflatables. The light itself is the Mark III by Tektite. The Mark III is a single LED bulb powered by 3 AA batteries, originally designed for diving, submersible to 1000 feet (300 meters). It should burn over 200+ hours...
Evan Garcia M-Wave Sessions
Evan Garcia - The M-Wave has been somewhat of my salvation the last 3 weeks I have been living in Colorado. Autumn has fully set in here in Crested Butte and not much has been going on in the kayaking front. I have spent a lot of time going through old footage and importing this summer's tapes to remember all the insane good times I had with so many incredible friends.
Have Kayaks, Will Travel Heavy industrial paddle in the Hoosier state
Have Kayaks, Will Travel - The southern shore of Lake Michigan is a testament to what goes wrong when industry runs amok. Factories and refineries clog the shoreline and pollute the air and water. Several even reach right into the lake, creating artificial peninsulas of industrial byproducts bordered by steel break walls. Every now and then, a short stretch of sand dunes suggests what this area was like before the titans of industry took it over. It's depressing, but fascinating.
Wavesport Blogs Project X and BUS EATER Wave
Wavesport Blogs - Rain, rain, and more rain brought the water level of the Ottawa River to the bring of spring flood. The ottawa river locals put themselves on Stakeout watch for the slowly approaching high water Bus Eater Wave. The level never quite got to prime but the 'almost' Bus level had to be surfed.
Rapid Magazine Blog Drowning on the Gauley
Rapid Magazine Blog - Only three weeks of the Gauley River whitewater season and there have been three tragic deaths.
Creek WV Notes from the Upper Blackwater
Creek WV - I love the Blackwater River, and enjoy the opportunity to paddle it. I also have a great deal of respect for it, bordering on fear at times. I've donated lots of skin, a paddle, bad lines, a few beatdowns, and way too much adrenaline to the King of the Canaan area runs. Its an unforgiving streambed, raw from repeated high water scouring and jumbled with sieves and ill-placed rocks.
Charlie Simmons Colorado 2010 Update from Cruise
Charlie Simmons - So my buddy Cruise Quenelle just finished this 2010 Colorado Update. Sweet vid, showcasing some of the great runs in and near Durango Colorado + more. im sure you'll enjoy.
Adventures of Burgess Westward Waters: Day 4 & 5
Adventures of Burgess - We awoke and slowly began the day. Checking river levels, we felt that our options were limited in the Beuna Vista area. We parted ways with our new found paddling friends and decided we would drive towards Gunnison planning to have a easier day paddle the North Fork of the Gunnison River. We drove onward through the high desert plateau's reaching a large reservior.
Rene van der Zwan Exercises with the Greenland paddle (part 4)
Rene van der Zwan - After the exercises with the 16X, I continued with the Greenland paddle that I took with me for that purpose.
PaddlingLight Manitou River Kayaking Trip Report
PaddlingLight - If a kayaking trip included one arch, one cave and one waterfall, I'd call it a winner. By that definition, the trip from Sugarloaf Cove to the Manitou River on Lake Superior wins the world championship. During the 11 mile round-trip, you will paddle past three arches that you can kayak through and many others above the waterline.
Inflatable Kayak Blog Six Tips for Better Fall Photos From Your Kayak
Inflatable Kayak Blog - The beautiful autumn scenery somehow looks even more vivid when viewed from my inflatable kayak. I love paddling in the fall because of the cooler weather and, most of all, the incredible mix of color that fills the landscape. Of course, the great color fits in perfectly with my other hobby, photography. I always have my camera with me in the kayak. You never know when a terrific 'photo op' will occur.
